Abstract

The novel tetramethylcyclobutadiene complex [PtCF₃(C₄Me₄)(PMe₂Ph)₂]⁺[PF₆]^– and the first platinum(IV)–alkoxy-carbene complex [PtMe₂(CF₃)-([graphic omitted]H₂)(PMe₂Ph)₂]⁺[PF₆]^– have been prepared from cationic acetylenic intermediates.
