Abstract
This is a study of the nutritive value of indigenous feedstuffs in the American Tropics when used in all-vegetable-protein rations. Corozo palm (Orbignya cohune and spp. of the genus Scheelea) nut and sesame oils and ripe bananas gave satisfactory gains when fed in balanced rations. Supplements of APF concentrate in balanced banana rations increased in gains slightly, but supplements of dried cow manure did not, even though the manure supplied the same APF potency.
