Abstract
This paper describes an electronic instrument which has been developed for the measurement of internal friction to a high level of accuracy. The device is actuated by an input signal consisting of a voltage‐time decay wave form, with the necessary condition that the decay should follow an exponential law. The operation is both automatic and rapid so that the apparatus is suitable for investigating changes in damping when a given dependent parameter is varied. Keywords
