Abstract
New exact solutions of the homogeneous, free-space wave equation are obtained. They originate from complex source points moving at a constant rate parallel to the real axis of propagation and, therefore, they maintain a Gaussian profile as they propagate. Finite energy pulses can be constructed from these Gaussian pulses by superposition. Keywords
