Frequency selective excitation spectroscopy of the CO intercombination bands

Abstract
Using the method of frequency selective excitation spectroscopy, several bands of different intercombination systems of the CO molecule have been analyzed and measured. Using conventional methods, such as absorption spectroscopy, these bands could not be observed before owing to a severe overlap with the allowed bands of the A1Π–X1Σ+ system.
