Abstract
This paper describes tests made with a graphic recorder to show the vibration of transmission-line conductors under various conditions of wind velocity, conductor tension and span length. The method of taking the records is discussed. Formulas are given for determining the velocity of propagation of transverse waves along a conductor, the wavelength of a vibration, and the frequency of vibrations caused by ``eddies'' formed at a conductor subjected to air currents. Keywords
