Abstract
Excretion of oestriol and oestrone by the hen and of oestriol, oestrone, and oestradiol by the rooster is indicated by chromatographic analyses and color tests on the neutral and phenolic steroid fractions of extracts of the droppings of sexually active domestic fowl. No evidence for the excretion of androgens was obtained. An unknown component of the neutral fraction reacted with ethanolic potassium hydroxide to produce a pink color and was found only in the extracts of droppings from the male fowl.Keywords
