Abstract
Sodium can be removed from samples of biological materials by anion exchange. The operations are performed in one test tube which then also serves as the sample holder for subsequent gamma-ray analysis. In this system, 64Cu was counted without detectable losses after reduction of the sodium quantities to ≤ 10−6 times the original amounts. Any remaining 24Na activity in the gamma spectrum was subtracted electronically before counting. Keywords
