Gamma-gamma angular correlation studies forCe142

Gamma-gamma angular correlations for several cascades in ${}_{}{}^{142}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Ce}$ were measured using a four-detector system. In a recent publication the level at 1219 keV was assigned $2_2^{+}$ in contradiction to a previous assignment of $4_1^{+}$. This makes ${}_{}{}^{142}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Ce}$ completely different from any known nucleus in the same region. It is shown, however, that this level is, in fact, completely consistent with $4^{+}$ and is in agreement with systematics.
