Abstract
This study evaluated a neuroscience nursing community outreach program titled, “After the Party's Over.” focused on teenage drinking and driving prevention. The program consisted of a 20-minute slide presentation with contemporary music and narration that depicted graphic pictures of actual patients who sustained severe head and spinal cord injuries (SCIs) as a result of motor vehicle accidents (MVAs.) A convenience sample of 274 high school drivers' education students was obtained. A Likert-type scale that measured reported behaviors was administered immediately before and after the program and one month after program completion. Results indicated a significant change in reported driving behavior of teenagers who participated in this program. Keywords
