"Dressed Excitons" in a Multiple-Quantum-Well Structure: Evidence for an Optical Stark Effect with Femtosecond Response Time

Abstract
A very large high-energy shift of exciton resonances in GaAs multiple-quantum-well structures is observed during irradiation of the sample with femtosecond nonresonant radiation. This effect is discussed in terms of excitons "dressed" by photons.Keywords
