Abstract
Heidenhain''s "lymphagogues of the first order", such as decoctions from shell fish, release histamine from the cat''s isolated perfused skin. They also produce a wheal and flare reaction in very small doses in the human skin. Histamine liberators, such as propamidine and compound 48/80, increase lymph flow from the cat''s thoracic duct. The different action of epinephrine and related compounds is discussed. Keywords
