Preparation of Human C-Peptide

Abstract
Human C-peptide, which is the proinsulin connecting peptide minus the two terminal basic dipeptides, was isolated from human pancreas using a side fraction from the preparation of human insulin. Electrophoresis and amino acid sequence studies strongly indicate that the product is human C-peptide because of its similarity to porcine and bovine C-peptides.
