Abstract
Recent understanding of the anatomy of the pelvic plexus and cavernous nerves to the penis has resulted in modified surgical techniques of radical prostatectomy and radical cystoprostatectomy that allow for preservation of potency in the majority of men undergoing these procedures. To date, however, a technique of urethrectomy that preserves potency has not been reported. We describe a modified approach to urethrectomy based on recent anatomical and surgical observations that has allowed for preservation of potency in 2 patients. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
