Abstract
Sixty-seven cases of total prostatectomy for localized stage B carcinoma of the prostate were reviewed. There were no operative deaths. Significant morbidity was limited to the well known complications of impotence and incontinence. The overall survival rates were 92% for 5 yr (42 of 46 patients), 79% for 10 yr (19 of 24) and 62% for 15 yr (8 of 13). Total prostatectomy continues to be the preferred method of therapy for this stage of prostatic cancer. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
