Abstract
When examining the thirty year history of the medium of FM broadcasting, it may be easier to look at the history of a “typical”; station than at the mass of facts and figures that attempt to describe the whole medium. WTMJ‐FM is an excellent choice for a case study, faithfully following the ups and downs of FM broadcasting. Mr. Christopher H. Sterling, a Ph.D. candidate in the department of speech at the University of Wisconsin, conducted the research for this article while preparing his masters’ thesis in 1966.Keywords
