Abstract
Some mathematical aspects of the generalized master equation are discussed. The resolvent operator is expanded in terms of a two‐body scattering matrix and this result is used to express the quantities in the generalized master equation in terms of expansions in the scattering matrix. The expansions are utilized in studying the density dependence of these quantities. Keywords
