Abstract
During recent years the wasp, P. exclamans has become increasingly abundant in citrus groves in Arizona. Laborers were reluctant to harvest the fruit in the infested groves, causing a loss of fruit as high as 20% in some areas. In 1953, 12 formulations of insecticide sprays were tested for effectiveness against this wasp. Of these, 1% thanite in deodorized kerosene spray base oil was most effective and least expensive. This formulation gave a quick knock down of wasps and good control of the nest brood. Concurrent with the insecticide test program observations on the biology of the wasp was also made. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
