Abstract
The Task Forces on Psoriasis and Photobiology of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) met in Chicago during the annual meeting of the academy, December 1976, to discuss PUVA therapy. The following statement was developed by these two task forces and accepted by the AAD Board of Directors. It was issued as a special notice at the AAD meeting and published in the AAD Bulletin. A number of papers on PUVA therapy for psoriasis have appeared in the Archives or are in press. In addition, the journal will continue to evaluate and accept manuscripts related to the scientific aspects of PUVA. However, the editors would like to emphasize that they are in complete agreement with the academy's position that is presented in the following statement.—Eds.
