Abstract
Addition compounds have been prepared of triphenylphosphine sulfide with HgCl2, AlCl3, AlBr3, SnCl4, TiCl4, TiBr4, SbCl5, NbCl5, TaCl5, FeCl3 and FeCl2, and of triphenylphosphine oxide with AlCl3, AlBr3, TiBr4, SbCl5 and TaCl5. Reaction of NbCl5 with triphenylphosphine oxide yields the addition compound (Ph3PO)2NbOCl3. The syntheses, infrared spectra and some properties of the adducts are described and discussed.
