Abstract
Glow‐discharge decomposition of pure hydrazine in a flow system was studied at an inlet temperature of 25°C for several currents and flow rates. The emission spectrum from 3000 to 6000 Å was observed. Stable products were analyzed using gas chromatography. An important characteristic of the decomposition is the observation of an initial threshold level of hydrazine decomposition. The principal feature of the proposed reaction mechanism is the use of competitive reactions involving the rupture of the N–H and N–N bonds. Keywords
