Abstract
For a sample of 297 Kindergarten children predominantly of Anglo descent, the Rutgers Drawing Test (RDT) given in late January (midyear) was shown to correlate .64 with total scores of the Metropolitan Readiness Tests (MRT), Form A, and .26 to .66 with scores on its subtests administered in late May (end of school year). It would appear that the RDT was a valid midyear predictor of readiness for the first grade as measured by the MRT at the end of the Kindergarten year. Keywords
