Abstract
To the Editor: The recent articles by Klawans, Paulson and Barbeau (Lancet 2:1185, 1970) and Cawein and Turney (N Engl J Med 284:504, 1971) concerning a method that may eventually lead to the successful identification of the carrier of the gene for Huntington's chorea has provoked Cederbaum (N Engl J Med 284:1045, 1971) to introduce a note of caution in its use. I should like to go farther and raise an aspect of this problem that has previously been largely ignored.It is correct, as Cederbaum says, that a means of diagnosing the presymptomatic carrier state has been sought for . . .
