Abstract
Tremulone, a dienone isolated from Populus tremuloïdes heartwood, has been shown to be stigmasta-3,5-diene-7-one. This has been confirmed by a partial synthesis from β-sitosterol. The possibility that tremulone might be an artifact arising from the isolation procedure is discussed. This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
