Abstract
A case study was undertaken to examine the implementation of a model computer education program for teachers and to explore the relative effectiveness of various program components. The 120-hour professional inservice focused on the use of the computer as a multi-purpose educational tool across all subject fields. Both the teachers and the trainers judged the computer inservice to be a success. Moreover, the case study revealed 23 variables that related to the effectiveness of the program. These were grouped into three clusters relating to facilities and equipment, program activities and the personal characteristics of the training staff. Keywords
