Abstract
In a preliminary study of 15 patients the clinical effectiveness of prostaglandins (PGE2 and PGF2α) as abortifacients when administered by intrauterine instillation compared favourably with previous studies using the intravenous route. Abortion was successfully induced in 14 patients. The average total dose of prostaglandins required was about one-third of the amount needed intravenously, and side effects were minimal. Keywords
