Abstract
(1) Till recently it was considered that the basic fraction obtained from the hydrolysis products of proteins contained only histidine, arginine and lysine. It has now been shown that 3 other bases may be present, viz., hydroxylysine, protoctine, and dl-lysine. (2) The dl-lysine does not rise from racemization of the active lysine normally present, but is probably derived from some unknown constituent of the protein, from which it is liberated by the action of acids acting in the cold. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
