Abstract
The cohesion of organic ionic and partially ionic lattices is dominated by Madelung, polarization, and dispersion energies. Good atom-in-molecule charges and polarizabilities are important, and the cost of partial ionization needs a quantitative description. Several current inroads into these questions are discussed. Keywords
