Abstract
The conversion of benzonitrile to triphenyl‐s‐triazine by heating under high pressure is promoted by ammonia and, more advantageously, by benzamidine. Extension of the reaction to suitable aromatic dinitriles produces crosslinked resins of considerable thermal stability and good mechanical properties, but the slowness of the polymerisation reduces its potential technological usefulness. Keywords
