Abstract
Open-cell polyurethane foam has been shown to be effective in separating gallium and iron from aluminum in acid chloride solutions. Evidence is presented which indicates that the solid organic polymer acts as a “solvent extractor” for complex acid chlorides of gallium and iron.Keywords
