Abstract
The activity oftetroxoprim and sulphadiazine, alone and in a combination of 1:4 was studied against 183 common gram-negative bacteria. Maximum synergy was found at a level of 4 mg/l of the combination and most strains of the sensitive population were susceptible to 4 mg/l oftetroxoprim. The MBC of the majority of strains was the same as the MIC. Trimethoprim was two to three times more active than tetroxoprim.
