Abstract
New liquid-crystalline compounds with an intramolecular hydrogen bond are presented. They are derived from 2-methylalkanoic acid and resorcinol. The spontaneous polarization of the new compounds is larger than that of the analogues without the hydrogen bond. This paper details the method of synthesis and their physical properties. Keywords
