Abstract
Administration of riboflavin to the renal tubular cells of the avian kidney by way of the renal portal circulation, results in tubular excretion of this substance. Studies of inhibitors demonstrated that an organic base (tolazoline) inhibits the active transport of riboflavin selectively while not simultaneously inhibiting organic acid transport. The results suggest that riboflavin shares the renal transport system demonstrated for organic bases. Keywords
