Abstract
This paper describes a flexible approach to custom long baseline acoustic navigation applications. The basic concept is based on using standard acoustic hardware that measures acoustic travel times and communicates these travel times to a computer using software tailored to the application. The capability of an Acoustic Signal Processor to be controlled by a computer and to transmit travel times to the computer via a standard RS-232 link is the keystone of the approach. This paper will describe the system components, system operation and field results. Keywords
