Hexobarbital Metabolism. Formation of α-1, 5-Dimethyl-5-(3-hydroxy-1-cyclohexen-1-yl)-barbituric Acid Glucuronide

Abstract
[alpha]-1,5-Dimethyl-5-(3-hydroxy-1-cyclohexen-1-yl)-barbituric acid glucuronide [[alpha]-3-OH-HB-GA] was isolated from the urine of rabbit administered hexobarbital. The position of the conjugated glucuronic acid was suggested by ultraviolet absorption spectrum, and the structure of aglycone was confirmed by enzymatic and acid hydrolysis.
