Abstract
The Urolume™ Wallstent® is a permanently implanted woven mesh of fine superalloy wire which by means of its inherent radial force holds open the prostatic urethra while becoming covered with urothelium. It is inserted using ultrasound or endoscopic guidance and local urethral anesthesia. The successful use of this stent in 45 patients with prostate obstruction is discussed. The stent may also have applications in some patients with Parkinson's disease, urethral strictures, and high cervical spinal injuries. Keywords
