Abstract
A method which utilizes a modified semipermanent mounting medium and cold storage to preserve sections of renal tissue stained for immunofluorescence microscopy is described. Results demonstrate that tissue prepared and stored as described undergoes no alteration in the pattern or intensity of immunofluorescent staining or in tissue morphology for periods exceeding 2 years. The use of this method and standardized immunofluorescent reagents facilitates centralized interpretation of renal immunopathology in collaborative studies of renal disease. Keywords
