Excited States ofCe138

Abstract
Sources of 2.02-h Pr138m and 1.44-min Pr138 were made by the (p,n) reaction on enriched Ce138, and sources of 5.7-h Nd138 were produced by the (α,2n) reaction on enriched Ce136. Eighteen γ rays plus annihilation radiation were attributed to the decay of Pr138m, and twelve γ rays plus annihilation radiation were attributed to the decay of Pr138. The level scheme of Ce138 is discussed. Evidence is given for the existence of a (2+) level of Ce138 at 1510.9 keV, near the previously reported 0+ and 4+ levels at, respectively, 1477.0 and 1826.4 keV.
