Abstract
The present paper discusses the information processing in the auditory nervous system with particular reference to speech sounds. The main emphasis is laid upon results of recordings from single nerve cells in the ascending auditory pathway and hypothesis about processing of speech-like sounds are put forward on the basis of these results.Keywords
