Abstract
A simple spectrophotometric method is descr. for measuring O2 differences between whole blood samples having the same hemoglobin concn. Percentage O2 saturation may also be measured. The method has been applied to investigation of the oxyhemoglobin dissociation curve at high O2 tensions. Whole blood appears not to be fully-saturated by air at sea level, but to gain approx. 2% in O2 saturation at 630 mm. Hg O2 tension.
