Epidural and subarachnoid injections of potent chemicals are being done without definitive diagnostic tests, as in these two cases. This emphasizes the need for careful evaluation by one qualified to treat neurosurgical disorders. Furthermore, even epidural injections of necrotizing chemicals is fraught with great risk.
