Abstract
The surface dose to the tumor varied from 3,380 to 4,300 r, given in a period of three to five days, with a 120-kv unit, a half-value layer of 3 to 5 mm. of aluminum, and the beam tangentially directed to avoid the lens as much as possible. Of the 7 patients treated, 6 were alive and free of disease five or more years following initial treatment; one patient died of intercurrent disease four years after treatment, without recurrence. Radiation-induced cataract, though it must be taken into consideration, was not a significant complicating factor in these patients. Keywords
