Abstract
Seven nuclear reactions have been examined where the angular distribution of reaction products depends on the type of coupling of angular momentum vectors in the nucleus. In six of the seven, the experimental angular distribution is consistent with the assumption of Russell-Saunders coupling in the nucleus. In three of the seven, the experiments are consistent with the assumption that the bombarding particle brings a definite in the reaction. Neither assumption is sufficient to explain the result in one reaction ().
