Abstract
Blood samples were taken from ketotic cows and from normal lactating cows in summer and winter. The lowest serum growth hormone and plasma glucose levels and the highest serum free fatty acid values were observed in the ketotic cows. It is suggested that the decrease in growth hormone might benefit the ketotic animal. Keywords
