Epoxipiperolid aus Piper sanctum / Epoxipiperolid from Piper sanctum

Abstract
In addition to 5- (γ-methoxy) -cinnamylidene-4-methoxy-but-3-enolide (= piperolide), whose occurrence in roots and stems of Piper sanctum was described previously, there has been found the corresponding 7,8-oxidoderivative as its main concomitant. The isolation procedure - chromatography on charcoal columns using lipophilic solvents - is described. The structure 3 is mainly based on spectroscopic studies of its tetrahydro-derivative.
