Abstract
The Thomson elm was selected on the basis of form, superior vigor and hardiness from a Japanese elm shelterbelt located on the PFRA Tree Nursery, Indian Head, Saskatchewan. Inoculation tests conducted by the Canadian Forestry Service. Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, have shown that this Asiatic elm is resistant to Dutch elm disease. Keywords
