Abstract
A Fourier synthesis technique is utilized to obtain the backscattered impulse response waveforms of a perfectly conducting right circular cylinder. The impulse response waveforms for broadside incidence for both parallel and perpendicular polarizations are given. The character of a creeping wave contribution and the validity of high-frequency asymptotic estimates of the reflected and the diffracted fields are discussed. Keywords
