Abstract
Streptozotocin-induced diabetes suppressed the normal development of the nine glycolytic and lipogenic enzyme activities measured. With the exception of NADP-isocitrate dehydrogenase, insulin replacement therapy induced increased activities of the enzymes in streptozotocin-treated rats. Insulin appeared to have a specific effect on the activities of glucokinase, ATP-citrate lyase, malic enzyme, and glucose-6-P-dehydrogenase.Keywords
