Abstract
Tests of 50-63 compound (= Daraprim) in the U.S.A. show that it is excellent as a prophylactic agent against the Chesson strain of Plasmodium vivax; is tolerated well by humans in the dosage utilized; and is of some value as a curative agent. Against acute parasitemias its action is slow and relapses occur as soon as treatment ceases. It will serve as an effective suppressant in most active cases, however. Keywords
