Abstract
Two methods for quantitating melanophore responses were compared using the same pituitary preparation. Because of greater sensitivity, longer dose range, smaller coefficient of variation, and smaller precision index it was concluded that the method employing intact frogs was superior to that in which isolated strips of frogs skin are used for assay of melanophore stimulating hormone. Keywords
